Why a CSEP Now is Better than Later

We hope you plan to take the CSEP exam sooner rather than later.
Because the CSEP is growing the same way PMI’s PMP designation did. See the graph below.

In the beginning, achieving the PMP was a true mark of distinction. It demonstrated a commitment to the field of project management. A commitment that few other people had demonstrated. Having the PMP designation on a resume caught the attention of human resource recruiters and hiring managers. Over time, however, the PMP became a requirement for more and more positions.

The CSEP designation is still in the “mark of distinction” phase. Achieving the designation now, or soon, will get attention and distinguish you both within your organization and as a candidate if you are seeking external opportunities. See some examples below that we just found online:

Chief Systems Engineer
Date: Aug 19, 2011
Location: Quantico, VA, US
International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

Sr. Systems Engineer
Date: Sep 5, 2011
Location: Fridley, MN, US
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
INCOSE CSEP certification

As time goes on the need to pass the exam will grow while its distinguishing power decreases.
